Celebrating Black History Month at Coquitlam College
February is here, which means it’s Black History Month! This month is all about celebrating the achievements, stories, and contributions of Black communities—both past and present. At Coquitlam College, we want to make this a time for students to learn, reflect, and have fun while honouring Black culture and history.

Black History Month isn’t just about remembering the past—it’s about celebrating the incredible contributions of Black communities in Canada and around the world. From arts and science to activism and leadership, Black Canadians and Black communities globally have shaped society in countless ways.
Here at Coquitlam College, our campus is a melting pot of cultures and experiences, with students from all over the world. This month is a chance for all of us—no matter where we’re from—to learn from each other, honour Black voices, and think about how we can make our college and community even more inclusive, supportive, and welcoming.
