Get Involved: Volunteer Opportunities at Coquitlam College
Looking to meet new people, build your resume, and make a difference? Volunteering on campus is a great way to get involved in the Coquitlam College community and gain valuable experience outside the classroom.
We recently wrapped up our end-of-semester Volunteer Appreciation event, where we celebrated the contributions of both students and staff who gave their time and energy to support our campus this semester. It was a chance to say thank you to those who helped with events, student life, and outreach activities. Your efforts make a big difference—and we see you!
Here are some ways that students volunteer throughout the semester:
1. Student Committee
The Coquitlam College Student Committee is an initiative designed to enhance campus life and give students a voice in shaping their college experience. As a member of the Student Committee, students represent the broader student body by helping to plan and promote campus events, providing feedback on student experiences, and supporting efforts to build a strong and inclusive campus culture. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for those who are passionate about student life and want to contribute to a more vibrant college community.

2. Library Volunteers
The Library Volunteers program offers students the chance to support the College Library by shelving books, organizing materials, and assisting fellow students with general inquiries. This opportunity is well suited to those who enjoy a quiet, structured environment and are eager to contribute to the academic success of others. With both day and evening shifts available, the position offers flexibility for students balancing coursework and other responsibilities.
3. Community Club
The Community Club offers students an opportunity to make a meaningful impact beyond campus by participating in local charity drives, street clean-up initiatives, and community programs such as Adopt-a-Block. This volunteer experience is ideal for those who are passionate about social impact and interested in building leadership skills through hands-on service. Students who wish to get involved can contact instructor Afrina Khan for more information.
