Exploring BC: Learning Beyond the Classroom
At Coquitlam College, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls. Our students not only gain knowledge in academics but also through hands-on experiences that challenge them, inspire growth, and foster a deeper connection with the world around them.
Recently, our students embarked on an exciting trip to Manning Park, one of British Columbia’s most scenic outdoor destinations. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and towering pine forests, students had the opportunity to try skiing and snowboarding for the first time. For many, it was a chance to step outside their comfort zones, face new challenges, and build confidence through perseverance and practice.
The trip wasn’t just about learning a sport—it was about embracing new experiences, supporting one another, and discovering the joy of being immersed in nature. Students cheered each other on, shared laughs after a tricky run, and celebrated small victories along the way. By the end of the day, they had not only gained new skills but also a newfound appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds them in British Columbia.

Experiences like this highlight the holistic approach at Coquitlam College, where personal growth, adventure, and real-world learning are just as important as academic achievement. Every trip, workshop, and activity is designed to enrich our students’ lives and create lasting memories that extend far beyond the classroom.
