The Breaking Barriers Bursary is designed to support new domestic students with disabilities who demonstrate academic potential and a strong commitment to success. This bursary is available to students entering Coquitlam College’s Associate of Arts, University Transfer, or High School programs. This scholarship covers 30% of tuition for up to two years, to a maximum of 30 credits, helping to make education more accessible for students who actively contribute to their communities.
To support student success, recipients are required to meet with an academic advisor throughout their studies to discuss academic progress, set goals, and receive guidance and support.
Important: Applications must be submitted directly to Coquitlam College. Students referred by agents are not eligible.

Personal Statement – A 500–750 word essay describing your academic goals, challenges you have overcome, and your commitment to success.
Proof of Disability – Documentation such as a medical note from a licensed healthcare provider or confirmation from recognized disability support services.
One Reference Letter – A letter from a teacher, counselor, support worker, or employer who can speak to your resilience, character, and academic potential.
