The Writers of Tomorrow Scholarship supports new domestic students entering Coquitlam College’s University Transfer or High School programs with the intention of transferring to a four-year institution to pursue studies in English, Creative Writing, or related disciplines. This scholarship covers 30% of tuition for up to two years, to a maximum of 30 credits, empowering aspiring writers to develop their voice and pursue their academic and creative goals.
To help ensure student success, recipients are required to meet regularly with an academic advisor to discuss progress, set goals, and receive personalized support throughout their studies.
Important: Applications must be submitted directly to Coquitlam College. Students referred by agents are not eligible.

Eligibility Criteria
Be enrolling at Coquitlam College for the first time
Be a domestic student (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or with refugee status)
Meet the admission requirements for your chosen program at Coquitlam College
Official Academic Transcripts – Most recent transcripts showing your academic performance and potential.
Personal Statement – A 500–750 word essay explaining your passion for writing, your academic and creative goals, and how this scholarship will support your journey
Writing Portfolio – A selection of your best writing samples, including at least one creative piece (e.g., short story, poem, or personal essay)
Two Reference Letters – From teachers, mentors, or employers who can speak to your writing ability, dedication, and potential in the field of writing or literary studies
