This course is designed to provide an overview of the major classes of mental disorders including mood disorders, organic mental syndromes, anxiety disorders, dissociative disorders, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, schizophrenia, and somatoform disorders. Case studies will be presented and classification, treatment and etiological issues will be discussed from biological, psychoanalytic, behavioural, cognitive and humanistic perspectives.
