This course prepares students for the world of retailing. Most of the growth in the future job market is occurring in the small business field. This course will provide students with many of the skills needed to work for themselves or for someone else in a retail-service business. This project-oriented course covers topics on the nature of marketing, sales promotion, (including print and broadcast media), visual merchandising, product policy (including packaging and labeling), market research, sales presentations, market segmentation, establishing store policies and procedures, printing goods and inventory.
