New Student Orientation at Coquitlam College is more than just an introduction — it’s your first step toward a successful and supported student experience. Here’s what you can expect when you attend:
- Welcome Package – Receive a welcome package filled with helpful resources to guide you through your first semester.
- Apply for Your SIN (Social Insurance Number)
On Orientation Day at our main campus, Service Canada officers may be available on-site to issue SINs directly to eligible students. Contact [email protected] to sign up for this convenient service. - Campus Tour – Get familiar with your new surroundings through a guided campus tour. Learn where your classrooms, services, and amenities are located.

Orientation FAQ
The orientation will cover essential topics to help you settle in, including:
- A campus tour
- Assistance from representatives to set up your phone, bank account, and SIN card
- Information on available student resources and how to access them
- Guidance on using our online tools, such as the student portal, MyCC, and your CC email
- Opportunities to meet other students, including student ambassadors
- Various workshops designed to prepare you for the upcoming semester
You don’t need to bring any paper or pens for note-taking, as we provide a welcome package for all attendees. Additionally, lunch will be provided during the lunch and mingle time, giving you the perfect opportunity to meet new friends and chat with fellow students!
SIN Workshop
As part of our orientation, we’re hosting a SIN (Social Insurance Number) Workshop, where representatives from Service Canada will be available to issue SINs to eligible students on the spot.
To participate, students must bring valid government-issued ID from their home country, such as a passport or driver’s license.
You must be enrolled for the semester that the orientation is pertaining to.
No! There is no fee for attending the orientation. It is a FREE event designed to help you get started on your academic journey.
While attendance is not mandatory, it is highly advisable to attend. Attending will help you stay up to date on what’s happening this semester and provide you with essential information for a successful start.
