MINISTRY OF EDUCATION DOGWOOD DIPLOMA

Senior High School Program

(Completion of 80 credits - Grade 10 to 12)

 

Coquitlam College offers a Senior High School Program designed to provide students with the graduation requirements for admission to our college as well as universities and technical institutes in Canada and the United States. Students may also upgrade pre-requisite courses prior to undertaking post-secondary studies at Coquitlam College. The program is fully certified by the Independent Schools Branch of the Ministry of Education of the Province of British Columbia.

 

 

Curriculum

 

The program curriculum conforms to the British Columbia Ministry of Education requirements for Senior High School Graduation. Graduates receive the Dogwood Diploma from the British Columbia Ministry of Education.

 

 

 

Admission

 

Applicants are accepted into grades 10, 11 or 12 based upon evaluation of their previous school official transcripts. If the language of instruction at the applicant’s previous school was not English, the applicant must complete the English Diagnostic Test.  Based upon the results, the student may be required to enroll in the English Studies Program prior to full-time acceptance into the Senior High School Program. Students are allowed and encouraged to combine ES and Secondary courses.

 

 

Transfer Credits

 

Students may be able to obtain transfer credit for work completed at other institutions. Evaluations will be made by an Academic Counselor upon presentation of Official Transcripts.

 

 

Provincial Exams

 

Students enrolled in the Dogwood Diploma Program must complete all required Provincial  Exams.
